Introdução: A COVID-19 continua a propagar-se rapidamente a nível mundial colocando uma grande pressãoe novos desafios sob as equipas de enfermagem. Objetivo: Identificar as emoções que influenciam a saúdemental dos enfermeiros no cuidado ao doente com COVID-19. Metodologia: Recurso a uma revisãosistemática da literatura utilizando a metodologia de Joanna Briggs Institute. A pesquisa foi efetuada comconsulta nas bases de dados CINAHL Complete, MEDLINE Complete, COCHRANE Plus Collection e MEDICLATINA. Para a seleção dos artigos foram aplicados os seguintes critérios de inclusão: artigos que incluamenfermeiros na prestação de cuidados a doentes com COVID-19; que descrevam alterações na saúde mentalcom referência às emoções vivenciadas; estudos disponíveis em texto completo em português, inglês ouespanhol; data de publicação entre 2019 e 2020. Resultados: Da análise dos artigos foi possível identificarfatores desencadeantes de emoções negativas e positivas, bem como estratégias de coping adotadas. Osfatores mencionados foram a sobrecarga de trabalho, escassez de equipamento de proteção individual erecursos humanos. As emoções negativas evidenciadas mais frequentemente foram a ansiedade, medo estress, em simultâneo foram desenvolvidas emoções positivas como gratidão e carinho. Os enfermeirosreajustaram-se psicologicamente realçando o apoio dos membros da equipa e exercício físico comoestratégias de coping. Conclusão: A saúde mental dos enfermeiros que cuidam de doentes com COVID-19 foiparticularmente afetada. Torna-se urgente que as instituições de saúde implementem uma gestão concertadaem estratégias de proteção para estes profissionais.

Introduction: COVID-19 continues to spread rapidly worldwide, placing great pressure and posing newchallenges for the nursing teams. Objective: To identify the emotions that influence the mental health ofnurses in the care of patients with COVID-19. Methodology: Use of a systematic literature review using themethodology of Joanna Briggs Institute. The research was carried out with a consultation in the databases CINAHL Complete, MEDLINE Complete, COCHRANE Plus Collection and MEDIC LATINA. The following inclusioncriteria were applied for the selection of articles: studies including nurses in the provision of care to patientswith COVID-19 and that described changes in the nurses' mental health with reference to the emotionsexperienced by them; full text studies in Portuguese, English or Spanish; publication date between 2019 and2020. Results: From the analysis of the articles, it was possible to identify factors that trigger negative andpositive emotions as well as coping strategies adopted to deal with them. The factors identified included workoverload, shortage of personal protective equipment and human resources. The most frequent negativeemotions were anxiety, fear and stress, however at the same time positive emotions such as gratitude andaffection were also developed. Nurses ended up adjusting themselves psychologically, highlighting thesupport of team members and physical exercise as coping strategies. Conclusion: The mental health of nurseswho care for patients with COVID-19 was particularly affected. It is urgent that health institutions implementfocused management in protection strategies for these professionals.
